I first joined the Catering Industry in 1986 training as draughts person for local equipment distributor Simon Bruce Ltd. Over a further six year period I gained experience designing equipment layouts for all manner of operations from MOD through to staff catering, retail food courts and the specialist oil and gas / marine sectors.

In 1992 whilst still working for Simon Bruce Ltd I was promoted in my role to project sales and design manager. In this position I became responsible for all designs and specifications produced by Simon Bruce Ltd and developed our business within our market place. Completing sales and consultancy presentations for clients such as Friends Provident, Cambridge Universities, BP, Shell, Elf, Conoco and Esso.

During further company expansion in 1995 I was promoted to sales director and operated the company in this controlling position for a further two years. In 1997 with backing from successful local investors I started Catershop Ltd as managing director. Over the last 12 years the company has grown to be one the most successful catering equipment supply companies in the UK.

In 2009 decided to form Acumen with my business partner David Holborow to bring together a talented team, and fulfill the need in the UK to offer independent dynamic Food Service consultancy.
